How Your Diet Impacts Gout

Introduction

If you’re looking for the highest standard of orthopedic and podiatric care in the Sacramento area, you’ve come to the right place! Our orthopedics team specializes in all aspects of orthopedic care for musculoskeletal injuries throughout the body, including rotator cuff injuries, muscle strains, ligament tears, joint problems, and sports injuries. Our podiatric team specializes in a wide variety of advanced diagnostic and conservative therapies, and our doctors are also available to perform surgical procedures, if necessary. Together, our entire medical team is dedicated to advancing the profession using the latest technology and research. With advanced services such as surgery and custom orthotics, we work hard to offer our patients the highest quality orthopedic and podiatric care available. Our goal is to help you – without losing our commitment to a family atmosphere, compassionate service, and personalized care. Specialty services we provide include:

Surgery

As a general rule, we consider surgery to be a last resort and will always attempt to address your problem conservatively first whenever possible. However, conditions that do not respond to conservative care and are impairing your daily life may need more aggressive intervention.

If it is necessary for your situation, rest assured you’ll be in the hands of an accomplished surgeon. Our team excels in a wide variety of advanced surgical techniques, including:

  • Minimally invasive arthroscopy
  • Total ankle replacement
  • Microneurovascular surgery
  • Foot and ankle reconstruction

Orthopedic Services

Orthopedics is a branch of medicine focused on the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and prevention of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. In other words: bones, cartilage, ligaments, tendons, joints, and all those things that help you move!

Our orthopedics team can help you deal with pain in many areas of your body; not just your feet but also your hip, neck, back, shoulder, hand, wrist, joints, and other areas throughout your body that may have developed painful conditions, including:

  • Rotator cuff tears
  • ACL injuries
  • Tendon and ligament injuries

Diabetic Foot Care

If you have diabetes, you need a comprehensive foot care strategy. Diabetes can greatly increase your risk of developing severe complications in your feet and ankles, including neuropathy, foot wounds, and infections that (without treatment) may lead to amputation.

Our team provides excellent and comprehensive diabetic foot care services. This includes:

  • Nerve and circulation testing
  • In-office wound care
  • Peripheral neuropathy treatments
  • Diabetic shoe fitting and dispensing
  • Maintenance foot care

Foot Care for Children

Because children are still growing and developing, their feet are prone to different types of conditions and injuries compared to adults, and often require different treatment approaches. While kids do grow out of some conditions in time on their own, it’s best to deal with serious foot problems before they have a chance to worsen. Our team is trained to provide gentle and exceptional care for a full range of pediatric foot and ankle conditions, including:
  • Flat feet
  • In-toeing
  • Pediatric sports injuries

Custom Orthotics

A large percentage of common foot and ankle injuries and conditions are caused, at least partially, by faulty biomechanics. Simply put, most of us have feet that aren’t designed to handle the stresses of the modern world.  Often, shoes alone do not provide the full amount of support and cushioning we need.

Custom orthotics are designed to restore the natural alignment function of the foot and ankle, and give your feet that extra bit of support they need to get through your day without pain. These versatile devices are custom made to your exact foot shape, so they can treat a wider variety of painful conditions, including:

  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Bunions
  • Flat feet
  • Diabetes

Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Treatment (EPAT)

EPAT is a non-invasive, clinic-based procedure that uses a unique set of pressure waves. When administered above a painful area, the waves penetrate deep into the injured tissues to stimulate metabolism, enhance blood circulation, and accelerate the healing processes. It is a common treatment option for:

  • Foot & heel pain
  • Tendon pain
  • Neuromas
  • Trigger points
