Introduction
Arthritis
Bunions
Bunions are a bony joint deformity at the base of your big toe, where the toe bone meets the first metatarsal bone in the metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joint. When your big toe points toward the little toes on your foot, the first metatarsal head sticks out on the inner side of your foot. Poor footwear, inherited foot structure, traumatic injuries, and arthritis are some things that cause these bumps. This toe deformity can also cause other conditions like hammertoes and claw toes, so it’s best to treat it early.
Heel Pain
Heel pain affects almost everyone—young or old, athletes or channel surfers— and is caused by plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinitis, stress fractures, heel spurs, and Sever’s disease, most commonly. It is often catalyzed by overuse, bad shoes, poor foot alignment, or improper foot strike when walking or running.
Flat Feet
Someone who has flat feet has little or no arch at all, which is most likely due to heredity. Cases that happen later in life are usually sustained from arthritis or an injury to a tendon, muscle, or ligament. People with flat feet tend to overpronate, causing other foot and ankle problems. Custom-made orthotics from our office might be your best bet to help combat issues that could crop up.
Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome
Toe Pain
Your toes undergo a lot of stress and pressure to help you balance, push off, and grip the ground as you walk, run, and go about your day. When problems like capsulitis, hallux rigidus, and claw toes kick in, we can help solve the most complex of issues.
